Luis Jara

Luis Jara began his journey in 1998 in El Paso, Texas and later he settled in Arizona where he became a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Holistic Health Care Practitioner.

 

In 2008 Luis started on a journey exploring the field of natural healing methods, specializing in reflexology, Zen Shiatsu and Lomi Lomi; becoming certified by the Southwest Institute of The Healing Arts in 2010 in these specialized modalities. During the next two years Luis expanded his certifications in Myotherapy, LaStone Therapy and Reiki. 

 

In 2011 he started teaching at the Southwest Institute of The Healing Arts focusing on Lomi Lomi, Reiki and Reflexology. Here is where he began to perfect his instructor qualities, learning how to structure a workshop, monitoring and guiding his students and encouraging them to find their own passion as a body therapist.

 

Over the next three years as time permitted in his busy teaching schedule and private practice Luis focused his studies on LaStone Therapy methodologies under the guidance of Master LaStone instructors and eventually studying with the founder Mary Nelson. It became clear to Mary and to Luis that he was committed to becoming certified as a LaStone instructor. By 2013 he completed all the requirements for LaStone Master Instructor. In 2015 Luis extended his studies with Mary Nelson in the art of StoneDancing and is now certified to teach all seven levels.

 

Naturally Luis found himself wanting to know more and his desire for a better understanding of the whole body and various healing and shamanic practices. Luis journeyed to locations such as Hawaii, Thailand and Mexico, to study under masters in traditional spiritual and bodywork healing systems at their roots for his own personal and professional growth. Luis is passionate to share his work and his specialties of Lomi Lomi, Temple Style Hawaiian Massage, Traditional Thai Massage, and Hot and Cold Stone Massage methodologies that assist the body to balance and heal by taking it into a deeper state of relaxation and awarness of self, which assists the client to embrace the possibility that change is attainable.
